Biography

As Director of Research & Assessment, Dr. Mari Jo Renick coordinates research projects and student assessments. She currently teaches English, and she has taught Reconstructive Language. She also served as a team leader for Constructive Writing (CW), an evidence-based writing curriculum developed at Gow. Prior to relocating to Western New York in 2001, Dr. Renick was Director of Literacy Specialists, LLC in Denver, Colorado.

Dr. Renick has given numerous presentations for The International Dyslexia Association including Constructive Writing: Teaching adolescents with dyslexia to write (2010) and Teaching phonics to adolescents and adults: Challenges and rewards (2005). She is the author of The Self-Perception Profile for Learning Disabled Students with Susan Harter.

Dr. Renick lives in White Cottage with her teenage daughter Mikayla. She and Mikayla often are out on campus walking their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Savvy.
