The Ravens travelled to Niagara University on Wednesday and defeated Niagara Catholic 3-0 despite two rain delays. The two teams encountered a steady rain delay of 45 minutes just after warm-ups and the first game of the match. After drying the courts, the team went back out on the courts and won the first set in all five positions. The doubles teams of Jacob Z. and Mason W. as well as Kithsen W. and Tim L. dispatched their opponents handily in straight sets. Robert T-H. starting at singles for only the second time this season was up 6-1, 6-0 30 love when the second rain storm hit. The rain stopped just long enough for Robert to win the final two ponts and the match for the victory. Zach M. and Toma B. were both leading their matches when the match was called due to the rain.
The team celebrated with a ceremonial ball toss over Niagara Falls by seniors and captains Toma and Jacob after the match. The team annually makes this pilgrimage to Niagara Falls and offers up a new tennis ball to the tennis gods for good luck.
