Event Recap: The JV Ravens played a Saturday home matinee against Cardinal O’Hara. The Gow School team battled hard; however, they lost a fast paced offensive affair 91-67. For the second consecutive game, the Ravens faced a team playing a full court press. This time the Ravens handled the ball pressure better and broke the press consistently. Both teams created good looks at the basket throughout the first half, but O’Hara’s team speed allowed them to score on several fast break opportunities.. At the end of the half, the Ravens trailed 48-40.
The track meet continued in the third quarter with both teams trading baskets on almost every possession. Gow scored 19 points in the quarter, while O’Hara hit for 23 to push their lead to 12. O’Hara’s deep bench and team speed eventually wore down the Ravens, and Gow's shooters cooled in the fourth quarter allowing O’Hara to pull away.
Dakota S. led Gow in scoring with 20 points, and Viktor M. added 17. Aurel L. scored 8 points, while Nick U., Toby L., and Bjorn T. posted 6 points each. Tony. S. finished off the scoring with 2 points. |
