Gow Goes Green for Muscular Dystrophy

Gow Goes Green for Muscular Dystrophy

On Thursday, November 4th, our Gow community participated in a two-mile walk in honor of Aidan Salerno, son of Luke Salerno, Head of the Lower School.

In September, Aidan Salerno passed away from muscular dystrophy. This hit our community hard and immediately the students wanted to do something to honor Aidan. After discussing it with Student Council and advisor Ms. Mileham, they landed on the idea of a walk and then planting a tree in his honor.

Over the past month, students, faculty, and parents have been making donations in Aidan’s honor or to help purchase the tree. As of the morning of the walk, we have raised a little over $5,000 that will be donated to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in honor of Aidan Salerno. A tree will be planted in the springtime near the Gow Center for everyone Govian to see and know the impact Aidan had on all of us.

Thank you to all who have donated!
