Mr. Mark Szafnicki
M.Ed., SUNY at Buffalo
A long time Western New York native, Mr. Szafnicki grew up in nearby Orchard Park. He graduated from the University of Buffalo where he played college tennis. He still competes in tennis and has been ranked in WNY's top ten in tennis several times. He has also competed in National competitions and serves on the board of the Buffalo Tennis Hall of Fame committee. In addition to coaching and playing tennis, Mr. Szafnicki is an avid skier. In his career at Gow, he has taken students on over twenty ski trips to Vermont, Colorado, Utah and Wyoming. In the summer, Mr. Szafnicki enjoys boating and the shores of beautiful Lake Erie. Mr. Szafnicki twice served as president of the East Aurora Rotary Club and is a Paul Harris Fellow.
Mr. Szafnicki lives in Howard House with his wife Darcy. Together, they have three children, Kendall, Chase and Tanner. Kendall is in graduate school at Medaille for Education and teaches in the GSSP. Chase attends SUNY Buffalo and Tanner attends Erie Community College.
