Providing a safe and fun environment, while at the same time an opportunity to support students academic needs, is what Gow does best.
The Gow School Summer Adventure (GSSA)
What sets GSSA apart is our beautiful 125-acre campus with traditional camp experiences of making friends and memories, plus the academic support your kids might have missed while attempting to learn at home. Camp begins Monday, June 29th and the last day of classes will be Friday, July 31st. Day campers and boarding summer session students will receive small group, live in class instruction in the morning and traditional summer camp fun in the afternoon. With only 50 spots available, space is limited.
Our day campers will be following a cohort model, up to 10 campers and 2 counselors per cohort, allowing them to participate in traditional camp fun on Gow's 125 acre campus; think Ga-ga ball, 4-square, slip and slide, scavenger hunts and ultimate frisbee to name a few. Each camper will take four classes in the morning that will be individualized to their needs and interests. A partial list of activities can be found here. Our day camp is a five week program for campers ages 7 - 17. Classes begin Monday, June 29th and run until Friday, July 31st. The cost for our full five week program is $5,800.00.
Boarding students in the summer session will live in single room occupancy in the dorms, and we are capping the boarding students to a total of 50. Safety procedures and protocols will drive all of our practices and we will monitor students daily. Meals will be served by trained staff, boxed and to go into smaller cohort groups.
Move in for our summer session students will be Sunday, June 28th with classes starting on Monday, June 29th. The last day for classes will be Friday, July 31st and move out will be Saturday, August 1st. Our summer session is a five week program for students ages 7 - 17. Classes begin Monday, June 29th and run until Friday, July 31st. The cost for our full five week program is $7,800.00.
The Cohort Model
Designed with the health and safety of our campers and staff in mind, GSSA will utilize a cohort model. Each cohort will consist of up to 10 campers and 2 counselors. All meals and activities will be done as a cohort to minimalize contact with other cohorts. We will utilize our space and state of the art technology resources to tap into creative, social-distanced ways for cohorts to interact. By utilizing the cohort model, we will be limiting the contact between our campers allowing them to participate in more activities.
Digital Tutoring Program (DTP)
This is NOT your Zoom or Google Meets classroom!
If you are unable to make it to campus this summer, we will be offering a Digital Tutoring Program (DTP). Tutoring sessions will occur each day, Monday through Friday. DTP is designed for students age 7-17. Students will be able to enroll in several remedial courses, such as Reconstructive Language (Gow’s Orton-based phonics program), Summer Writing, Summer Math, and Organization & Study Skills. These base content areas can help a student get a jump start on summer work or work through unfinished work from the end of last school year.
DTP is also offering several enrichment courses that will afford students the opportunity to explore academic topics of their interest. For information on each course, please see our course descriptions.
- Session I: Monday, July 6th - Friday, July 17th
- Session II: Monday, July 20th - Friday July 31st
The cost per class for DTP will be $700.00 for the two-week course ($70.00/lesson).
Each session is limited to 50 students.
