Upper School

Welcome to The Gow School Upper School!

In the Upper School, our goal is to prepare our 10th, 11th, and 12th graders for a post-secondary, rigorous academic environment. Our 9th grade is designed as a hybrid year. While students take the high school course load, they receive a more hands on approach from teachers and the Head of the Middle School to instill valuable life skills. As the year progresses, teachers begin to take steps back in the hands-on approach as they prepare them for their 10th grade year.

In recent years, more than half of each graduating class, has been comprised of students who joined us as 10th, 11th, or 12th graders. It is our hope that our students will achieve success through the advanced course load, whole person development, and a second to none college counseling program.

Our teachers are experienced in working with students who have learning differences and will put in the time to help your child with their college preparatory course load. With advanced courses available across all departments, students core classes include Reconstructive Language, English, History and Science, with electives in Art and Applied Technology.

We take the guess work out of applying to college. With our talented and skilled college counseling staff guiding your students through the common application, standardized testing, essays, and letters of recommendations, we have a 100% college acceptance rate every year. Students are being accepted to colleges that will support their learning disability and help them thrive.

Taking the first step is hard, but we will work every day to reassure you that you have made a great choice in The Gow School!
