Gow offers students the tools they need to overcome their learning challenges. We explain their learning styles and help them learn to advocate for themselves. Gow's structured schedule, individualized attention, and supportive environment help them to learn the self-discipline and skills they need to succeed in college and career.

Gow students do not take gym class, instead every student is encouraged to play sports or participate in an after school activity. Gow offers three athletic seasons with a variety of options for the seasoned or the novice athlete to perfect their skills or to try something new.With sports like: soccer, basketball, skiing, lacrosse and tennis; students are able to continue playing a sport they have in the past or have the ability to try something new. 

Outside of the classroom, Gow offers a full slate of off-campus activities, student clubs, leadership opportunities, arts, and athletics for all students to participate in. 

Student Life

Reconstructive Language (RL) is Gow’s renowned remedial language-skills program, created by school founder Peter Gow, Jr, with guidance from pioneering neurologist Dr. Samuel T. Orton. Breaking down the elements of the English language, RL uses proven multi-sensory structured language education principles. Students work together to improve their skills in phonics, spelling, vocabulary, and oral reading for fluency and comprehension.

A positive attitude makes all the difference! Gow's individualized attention, structured schedule, and supportive community help make the transition easier. Living in a dorm with faculty members and their pets & families help students feel at home. They make lifelong friends, discover their strengths on the athletic field, on stage, in the art room, and in the classroom, all in preparation for life, college, and career. 

The safety and security of our students is of the utmost importance. Our campus is outfitted with a comprehensive security camera network. We have an all-school alert system and, as a tightly knit community, every person plays a role in keeping our students, faculty, and their families safe and secure.

Safety and Support at Gow

We invite all parents to apply for financial aid. To begin the process, all families are encouraged to submit a Parents' Financial Statement (PFS) through School and Student Services. The Gow School code is 1815. Gow's Admissions and Financial Aid Committee determines all financial aid decisions. Although financial need is a primary consideration, student attitude and contributions to the school are also important. The Gow School determines financial aid annually. Amounts may change and are not guaranteed from year to year.

Financial Aid and Tuition

A full report of a Psychoeducational Evaluation conducted within the last three years should be sent to the Admissions Office. The report should include all composite and subtest scores (standard scores and percentile ranks) for a comprehensive test of cognitive abilities, e.g., Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC-V), Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS-IV), or Woodcock-Johnson IV Normative Update (WJ IV NU) Tests of Cognitive Abilities, and a test of achievement skills, e.g., Woodcock-Johnson IV Normative Update (NU) Tests of Achievement or Wechsler Individual Achievement Test (WIAT-III).
