Experience Gow

Your campus visit is an integral part of the admissions process at The Gow School. Visiting our campus will allow you to meet students and faculty, see our community in action, and experience daily life at Gow. During your comprehensive tour, you will meet our Head of School, faculty, and students, visit classes, enjoy lunch and conversation with students, and discuss your next steps with our enrollment team.

Our Campus:

Our 125 acres of expansive campus in South Wales, NY is just a short drive from historic East Aurora. We are less than 30 minutes from Buffalo whose rich history, architectural gems, and entertainment include a plethora of museums, 12 colleges, a botanical garden, zoo, and professional sports.

While walking the grounds of Gow, your tour will also feature stops at:

Howard Hall: Currently under construction, this $10.5 million project will feature ten multisensory state-of-the-art classrooms, a more extensive health office and counseling center with triage and infirmary spaces to provide services and privacy for students, and a Little Seniors store, run by Gow's entrepreneurial class, with a patio picturesque patio overlooking Cazenovia Creek.

Orton Hall: The academic heart of our campus, Orton Hall is more than just a building. It is a learning hub that offers a range of support for our students. In addition to classrooms, the study hall is a space where students can work closely with Gow teachers in Math, English, Science, History, and Reconstructive Language. This personalized attention ensures students can access the subject-specific help they need, reinforcing our commitment to their academic success.

The STAR Building: Science comes to life in our Biology and Physics classrooms. The STAR Building is also home to Gow's robotics program and our state-of-the-art engineering lab. Students design and build robots for competition with a CNC machine, 3D printer, computer program, and a lathe.

Gow Center: A 50,000-square-foot sports and recreation complex, the Gow Center is a testament to our commitment to a well-rounded education. It features three squash courts, a weight room, two indoor tennis courts, a basketball court, and two academic classrooms. This unique combination of facilities encourages students to balance their physical and educational pursuits, fostering a holistic learning environment.

Weston Dining Hall: Hungry? The Weston Dining Hall hosts 19 meals a week for our Gow community. Gow students select their food from the salad bar, soup and sandwich stations, and hot meal serving areas. Meals provide an ideal time for Gow faculty, staff, staff and students to engage in conversations and relax as a community. Gow’s dining staff provide varied, nutritious options and strive to meet a variety of dietary needs.

Student Housing: Gow's dorms provide a comfortable and supportive living community where students make life-long friends and learn skills necessary for college and life. Dorm parents provide supervision, mentoring, guidance, and community.

We hope you'll also want to explore the wood-lined trails, creeks, and playing fields during your tour. Gow's 125-acre campus has beautiful forests, bubbling streams, and miles of trails for hiking, biking, and all-season fun.

"Gow changed our life because it gave Izer the gift of an excellent education and the encouragement to believe in himself and his abilities. Without Gow we would have probably never seen our son be the driven student and man he is today."

- Michele Tuohey, Izer ’14
